July 23, 2021 by Gardening

WNY Gardeners in western New York has more than 7,500 members. Words “hoe” is what got them into trouble. Facebook’s formulas in some cases flag that word as “violating area requirements.”

A MARTINEZ, HOST:

Good morning. I’m A Martinez. Gardening groups on Facebook are beautiful wholesome, a room to discuss all points plants. Yet WNY Gardeners, which has more than 7,000 members, was flagged for going against standards. A person asked the team regarding their most enjoyed and crucial weeding tool. One replied push-pull hoe, but AI didn’t notice that meaning. Another annoying remark – eliminate them all; drown them in soapy water. Challenging to be a pest. It’s MORNING EDITION.
